Thanks to everyone who came out to see me on the 2016 Double R Author Tour! The tour was sponsored by the Oklahoma Department of Libraries, and it saw me visit schools and public libraries in Antlers, Chandler, Perkins and Yukon.
Finders Keepers has won the 2015 Oklahoma Book Award for juvenile fiction. The middle-grade novel has also earned a bronze
in ForeWord Reviews magazine’s
Best Books of the Year.
The Oklahoma Center for the Book also chose Finders Keepers as its featured book for the 2015 National Book Festival in Washington, D.C. It was an honor to meet readers in the nation’s capital.
I’ve spent twenty years as a reporter and another good part of my life in the classroom as a teacher, and I like to think it has all led me to here: the writing of my first book, Finders Keepers.
Finders Keepers has everything my middle-grade students always look for in a book: a little trivia, a little treasure, and a lot of good overcoming evil.
It also let me explore my lifelong fascination with baseball and baseball cards.
I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. You can read the first chapter of Finders Keepers for free on my Books page.
